My name is Eric P., the owner and roaster of Fig and Poppy Coffee here in St. Louis, MO. I grew up in New Jersey and coffee in the morning, afternoon, and after a dinner dessert was a staple, especially for the busy holiday seasons. I always enjoyed a good cup of coffee on a cold day, enough to warm me up and motivate me. Then, when I tried my first cup of Single Origin Ethiopian coffee, things changed. I wanted more out of my coffee. Always chasing the next best brew, while trying different roast level, brewing methods, coffee varieties, and experimental processes.
These coffees I have roasted are of the Fair Trade and Organic (FTO)side of the coffee market which is a fantastic way to support coffee growers, farmers, and the environment. The two coffees are sourced from Peru and Honduras. The Peru coffee is a mix of Typica, Bourbon, and Caturra with flavor notes of Cacao/Semi-sweet chocolate and citrus peel with subtle juicy undertones. The Decaf Honduras was roasted slightly darker and brings out the Roasted nuts and dark chocolate covered cherries. The Decaf is a similar mix of varieties with the included local specific varieties.
